Couples therapy and marriage counseling are at the core of my practice. I specialize in evidence-based relationship counseling using Gottman Method Couples Therapy, along with Prepare/Enrich (pre-marital counseling), to help couples improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen emotional connection. Grounded in over 30 years of research with more than 3,000 couples, the Gottman Method is a proven approach for creating healthy, lasting relationships through the Sound Relationship House framework.
I have completed all three levels of Gottman Method training and am currently pursuing certification in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

The Steps of Couples Counseling
Assessment Phase (Getting Clear & Aligned)
We start with a structured, evidence-based assessment using the Gottman Relationship Checkup and Love Lab assessment to understand your relationship’s strengths and challenges. This includes taking the Gottman Relationship Checkupand Love Lab assessment, followed by one joint session and individual sessions, and a feedback session where I provide a personalized treatment plan and clear goals for your couples therapy journey.Treatment Phase (Creating Real Change)
Using Gottman Method Couples Therapy, we focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and strengthening emotional connection. Sessions are primarily together, with practical tools and exercises to help you apply what you learn in real life.Maintenance Phase (Strengthening Skills)
As progress builds, sessions become less frequent so you can confidently practice new relationship skills and maintain positive changes in your daily life.Termination (Closing with Clarity)
We end therapy with intention—reviewing your growth, reinforcing progress, and ensuring you leave with tools to sustain a healthy, connected, and lasting relationship.
Time Frame for the Assessment
The couples therapy assessment is a structured, evidence-based process designed to help us fully understand your relationship. It typically takes about 4–4.5 hours across 3–4 sessions, plus about 1 hour to complete the online Gottman Relationship Checkup.
What to Expect:
Joint Intake Session: 120 minutes
Individual Sessions: 50 minutes each
Feedback Sharing & Treatment Planning: 90 minutes
A Note on Couples Counseling:
In our work together, I view the relationship as the primary client. My role is to support both of you while strengthening the relationship as a whole—balancing care, understanding, and growth for each partner.
